Education Minister Hassan Mneimneh issued a statement on Wednesday denying rumors that schools and universities will be closed on Thursday following the resignation of 11 ministers from the cabinet.

Lebanon’s unity government collapsed after Hezbollah and its allies pulled their 10 ministers from cabinet and one minister who had been named by President Michel Suleiman announced his withdrawal, providing the necessary number of resignations for the government to collapse.
