The Army Command said in a statement today, that “under the U.S. aid program for the Lebanese Army, the army Logistics division received through the port of Beirut, several 155 mm howitzers , other equipment and various types of ammunition”. The command pointed out that this comes “as part of the total U.S. aid package that is allocated for the Army.”
Great these 155mm howitzers would look great in next year’s independence day parade….I wonder why they have sent these weapons with amunitions though??!!!!
For Israelis to practice shooting them above ground. The LAF command does not get it. The ONLY way to defeat Israel and repel their troops is guerilla underground camouflage surprise fighting a la Hezbollah. They got their numbers and kicked Israeli butt. Conventional warfare with old weapons that you cannot move around fast won’t cut it. They will be able to fire one round, if any, before a drone comes in and wipe them out. Hezbollah’s tactics are what we need in the LAF so they keep moving rather than sitting ducks. NO JadM I don’t even think those weapons will survive to make it to a parade. 😛 lol
Werent’t 155mm used in world war 2???? doesn’t isreal have 10 times more advanced weapons than this?Our only enemy is isreal and the USA is its main allay, so logically the USA wouldn’t give our LAF anything that we could use to hurt isreal with. If I were Saad Al Hariri i would have respectfully declined the US military aid cause it would not add any real value to the arming of the LAF.
