During an interview with LBC TV on Friday, Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra said that his party would not accept an unfair ruling against any Lebanese faction, in reference to the latest media reports that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) would indict Hezbollah members in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
Zahra pointed to an appeal made by Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah during his Thursday evening press conference in which he urged the Lebanese government to suspend STL operations in the event it targeted Hezbollah.
Zahra responded to Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt’s Thursday accusation against LF leader Samir Geagea – that he is responsible for escalating tension in the country after saying bombings will take place again –saying that Jumblatt was the first to warn against the return of the bombing incidents, not Geagea.
