Lebanon MP: attacking UNIFIL only serves the interests of Israel

Lebanon MP Okab Sakr stressed during an interview with Future TV that attacking UNIFIL only serves the interests of Israel.

Sakr urged the Lebanese government to set up meetings between the army and UNIFIL to ensure compliance with UN SCR1701.

Sakr said what is happening in the south has nothing to do with the Special tribunal for Lebanon, nor Iran noting that the protests were a reaction to the move by the French battalion which irritated Hezbollah. Sakr stressed: “France has been actively involved in sparing Lebanon from an Israeli attack in the south”
