The Lebanese government declared Tuesday a national day of mourning due to the death of top Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah.
Fadlallah, former spiritual mentor of Hezbollah and branded a “terrorist” by Washington, died after a long illness at the Bahman hospital on Sunday. He was 75.
Fadlallah’s funeral will take place at 1:30pm Tuesday in Beirut’s southern suburbs of Haret Hreik.
