Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir expressed concern on Tuesday that abolishing of political sectarianism could lead to the domination of one group over the other.

“Sectarianism is intolerable, but we fear that once it is abolished, one party would dominate the other,” Sfeir said in remarks to the Voice of Lebanon radio station.

Asked if plans to visit Syria anytime soon , Sfeir said: “We don’t see a reason to visit Damascus at present.”
