Democratic Gathering bloc leader MP Walid Jumblatt told As Safir that MP Marwan Hamadeh attended the March 14 Bristol meeting on personal basis and not as a representative of the bloc .
Jumblatt, told As Safir that the meeting at Bristol is one thing and participation in the February 14 commemoration is something else, stressing that the “Democratic Gathering” bloc will participate, but the size of participation will be decided later.
Jumblatt urged that the commemoration should be a national gathering in line with the national situation after the Doha settlement and the formation of a unity government.
March 14 alliance called for a major rally on February 14 to mark the 5th anniversary of the assassination of Lebanon’s former PM Rafik Hariri .
In another interview with al Sharq al Awsat Jumblatt said he was convinced that three quarters of the way to Damascus, had been completed , pointing out that he has met all what is required of him for reconciliation with the Syrian leadership.
Jumblatt stressed in his interview that he would not apologize publicly to Syria in case this is a precondition for the visit as being speculated by the Lebanese media.
