A terminal at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport where a man was shot and killed Thursday was fully reopened by Friday morning, the airport said.
By 5 a.m. CT, people were no longer being redirected from Terminal B to other terminals, and Terminal B’s security checkpoint and ticket counters were fully staffed, it said.
On Thursday, a man was shot and killed in Terminal B’s pre-screening area after he fired at least one shot into the ceiling, Houston police spokesman Kese Smith said.
A Homeland Security Investigations agent who was working in an office near the scene came out and told the man to drop his weapon. The agent fired once at the suspect, who appeared to try to shoot himself at the same time, police said.
An autopsy will determine whose bullet killed the man, who has not been identified, police said.
