A Monk was found dead in Naameh, south Lebanon

The body that was found on Saturday on the seaside road in Naameh in southern Lebanon belonged to a Christian Maronite monk identified as Elie Jerjes al-Makdesi, National News Agency reported on Sunday.

LBC television also reported that Makdesi died of asphyxiation after he was strangled with a rope.

Makdesi, born in 1962, was from the town of Hosh Hala in the Beqaa Valley, the report said, adding that he was a monk at the Bahrsaf Monastery in Mount Lebanon.
