Two killed, 12 wounded in Badawi factory fire in Aley, updates

Two people were killed and twelve were wounded in Badawi factory fire in the summer resort city of Aley, MTV reported on Saturday

The factory reportedly manufactures confectionery products and the fire was caused by the explosion of a gas canister on Saturday morning.

Update 1-One of the people that were killed in the fire was identified as Saif Eddine Sayyed As Safi. a Sudanese national.

update 2 – Some of the wounded were identified as:

Mowaffaq Abdul Aziz, Shady Munther, and Camille Shalghini, Hassan Khaled, Watha Aga Abu Hamad, Talal Al-Aridi, Wael Ghraizi, Maamoun and Dhaher Salam, and owner Nahj Eddine Badawi.

    Not enough people appreciate the danger of these gas bottles, yet everyone cooks with it because there is never electricity for an electric stove. I know two people injured in gas-bottle kitchen explosions, both lucky to be alive.
    The costs go far beyond repair of the home, when hospital time is added.
