relations between March 8 and Suleiman / Mikati deteriorated

Share:

An Nahar sources who keep pace with the process of the formation of the Lebanese government reported that in the past two days there has been no contact between the parties concerned .

The sources also reported that the relations between some of the parties of the new majority and President Michel Suleiman and Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati have deteriorated following the campaign waged by those parties against the president and the PM designate .

The sources said that the campaign ( against the president and the PM designate ) has Syria’s blessing .

New obstacles came up after an agreement was reached on naming retired Brigadier Marwan Charbel as the Interior Ministry …. FPM leader MP Michel Aoun is strongly against allocating any share in the cabinet to president Suleiman . Aoun is also insisting on naming all the Christian Maronite ministers.

The sources said efforts are underway to reach an understanding on allocating 2 ministers for the president one of which will be a Maronite

  4. Hannibal,

Its funny you bring up the election, and your one of the main people on here

that preaches for the end of  our election system,so isnt it an oxymoron to be against

a system and than use that same system to justify your argument, cause if we did the election

based on popular vote we all know who wouldve won the “real’ election not the “lebanese system”

election….March 8 had the popular vote by a large difference if im not mistaken,,,we all know that

most lebanese have heart and a back bone and will stand up and fight any invader and occupier,

but I guess every country has people like march 14 leaders and there followers…

  7. Guys stop arguing! Lets replace the current political dynasties with educated people, who aren’t tribal. The people running Lebanon are all dynasties.. Some have tertiary qualifications, some nothing other than rearing goats, or farming to be more diplomatic. It’s about time this country took advantage of the opportunity to rewrite history.
