Supreme Court hands preliminary win to Trump on mail-in ballots executive order
The Supreme Court today handed an initial win to the Trump administration in its effort to implement an executive order aimed at limiting who can receive mail-in ballots ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
At issue are provisions that seek to create a federal list of eligible voters and order the U.S. Postal Service to deliver ballots only to eligible voters.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries
said tonight that Trump’s son-in-law and informal adviser Jared Kushner was the one who requested their recent meeting, which was held in private.
“He asked for a meeting, and I took it,” Jeffries said in a video posted to his social media, adding that he did so to discuss affordability issues.
Jeffries also insisted that Democrats are going to hold members of the Trump administration accountable.
“No one is going to get a pass,” Jeffries insisted. “We’re going to hold every member of the Trump cartel accountable, beginning on day one.”
Kushner could not immediately be reached for comment on Jeffries’ video.
Jeffries and Kushner met recently in Manhattan and discussed possible areas of cooperation, a source familiar with the meeting confirmed to NBC News yesterday.
Abdul El-Sayed asks Fox’s Jesse Watters
if he’s circumcised in debate over gender-affirming care
An interview with Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed on Fox News tonight took a turn when a discussion about gender-affirming care led to the candidate asking host Jesse Watters if he’s circumcised.
“You think it’s OK for a parent to slash his kid’s ding-a-ling off? You think that’s OK?” Watters asked, after asking whether El-Sayed supported gender-affirming surgery for minors.
“Do you really want to have this conversation? Are you circumcised?” El-Sayed said in response.
Watters answered in the affirmative while calling it a “personal question.”
“It’s a problem that you think that you get to decide what happens between a parent, a doctor and a patient. I’m just saying that yes, circumcision is surgery on a kid’s ding-a-ling,” El-Sayed said. “So if you really want to bring that up, you can — I just think you guys are really selective about these things.”
Watters responded by calling El-Sayed’s comments “wacky.”
“Abdul, Michigan’s not going for that. That is sick stuff,” Watters said.
