A source close to Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri told An-Nahar newspaper on Friday that the premier will head to Damascus on Sunday adding that preparations for his visit are complete, “and most probably a small delegation will accompany Hariri, but he will meet with president Bashar Assad in privately .”

The source also told the daily that Hariri’s visit will be “an official one,” saying that it is most likely that Hariri’s Syrian counterpart, Naji Ottari, will welcome the Lebanese PM upon his arrival at Damascus airport.

In reference to the warrants that were issued by a Syrian court to dozens of key Lebanese officials Hariri told MTV that as far as he is concerned these warrants “don’t exist” . He called the warrants a “mistake given that it was not right for a Lebanese citizen to file a lawsuit against his fellow citizens abroad.”
