A huge fire erupted in the town of Shouifat , just south of Beirut and has caused substantial damage to the wooded area of the town. The fire was reportedly caused by fireworks and has approached the residential area of the town. The town has appealed for help to extinguish the fire. The Lebanese army has reportedly joined the civil defense to try to extinguish the fire
The second fire erupted in the wooded area between the towns of Shehim and Burgain in Iqlim el Kharroub district , south east of Beirut . Large areas of pine, and olive trees were burnt and and the fire has approached the residential areas. The civil defense is having difficulties in extinguishing the fire due to the wind and has appealed for help
