Nigeria’s Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau is dead

An Islamist group in Nigeria, the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) released an audio recording Sunday saying that Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, has committed suicide. Wassim Nasr, FRANCE 24’s expert on jihadist groups, talks about the significance of this development.
