The head of the Muslim Brotherhood Bureau in Exile, Ahmed Abdul-Rahman, yesterday issued an apology to the Egyptian people after admitting that his organization made a “mistake”.

Speaking to Ahmed Mansour on Al-Jazeera, Abdul-Rahman said that Brotherhood leaders have already started a “radical review” of the group’s charter after “we have committed a mistake taking the reformation pathway.”

In his first TV debut, Abdul-Rahman said that 11 members in exile have been elected to run the organisation; former Egyptian Planning Minister Amro Darraj holds the political dossier, while former Morsi aide Yahya Hamid holds that on external relations.

Previously, the group announced that it had already started the reformation process, including the formation of the new bureau in exile. The bureau is entitled to run anti-coup activities in Egypt, as well as to run the Brotherhoods’ affairs in exile.

Official Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Mohamed Montaser previously tweeted that “an administrative bureau for the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in exile was formed and headed by Dr Ahmed Abdul-Rahman.”

This measure came just ten days after an official statement published by the group on its website noting that “extensive efforts were being exerted to reform Muslim Brotherhood’s institutions, committees and tools in order to match the current needs of the revolution.”

Ahmed Abdul-Rahman was the chief of the group in Al-Fayoum and member of the group’s Shura Council before he was chosen to be a senior member of the Freedom and Justice Party, which was dissolved after the July 2013 coup.

The Muslim Brotherhood bureau, which was elected in November and December 2014, has decided to form an administrational bureau to help the main bureau managing the current crisis.

We can see it in this …. the ‘revolution’ is still in the minds.

Well, hopefully, after the ‘apologies’ are finished, they’ll continue packing their bags in preparation for their ‘exodus’ FROM Egypt. This is the primary way they can make things better for the good Egyptians. God help the people already in wherever they decide to go to!

Enough Exodus from the Middle East. “This adds to the many hundreds of people, perhaps 1,400, who have lost their lives over the past week in a desperate bid to escape military violence by the US and its European allies, civil wars stoked by Washington and the European Union, and pervasive poverty exacerbated by the machinations of imperialism in the region”. https://www.oximity.com/article/War-is-America-s-Business-1

  3. a true democratic society is for all people not one religious sect. When are people going to get this through their thick skulls.
Even though the MB had nothing to do with the people rising in Egypt. After the ascended into power, I was hoping that the Morsi, would seize the moment and lead the way to show the world that we can have unifying democracy movement in the Arab world not driven by religion. But as we all saw, even if one is highly educated, that doesn’t mean they have the wisdom to make good decisions.

      you nailed it.
      the MB hijacked the revolution.
      and then killed it
Morsi may have been used as the front. he was never the 1st choice
the whole party leadership should be blamed
