Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Lebanon’s chargé d’affaires to country, Ibrahim Elias Assaf, following the hostile statements made recently by Hezbollah’s secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah.
Bahrain’s Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, asked the Lebanese chargé d’affaires to condemn these statements, pressing him about the need to take deterrent legal action towards such acts.
The Bahraini official stressed that such statements were completely incompatible with the nature of the fraternal relations between the two countries and their people, as they harm their efforts to develop these relations in various fields.
The undersecretary pointed out that these statements represented an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Bahrain and the GCC and they were a clear “incitement to violence and terrorism “which would not be tolerated.
He said the kingdom is committed to good neighbourly relations and believed in non-interference in the affairs of other countries and is keen to develop positive relations with all countries. However, it will not accept any interference in its affairs from any party and will take all measures to protect its security and stability.
