niger boat wreckageA boat capsized in the Niger River in Nigeria, leaving at least 42 people dead and another 100 missing, authorities said Saturday.
The accident occurred about 2 p.m. Friday near the village of Malilli in the Borgu local government area, the Nigerian Bulletin reported.

Malam Ibrahim Hussaini, the public relations officer for the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the boat had been loaded with more than 150 passengers when it capsized halfway between Malili and Tungo Illo.

Hussaini said local divers had recovered 42 bodies, but about 100 people were unaccounted for.

“We believe that the boat was overload because the boat’s capacity was put at 60 passengers, but over 150 passengers were said to be on board during the incident,” State Government Secretary Alhaji Saidu Ndako said.

“The debris in the swollen river may also have been responsible for the incident.”

    Theres a story roaming about
    1 man had his wife 8 kids at 10 000$ a ticket thats equals to 100 000$
I do not know anybody in lebanon who has 100 000$ cash who would even think about leaving lebanon.
    Somethings fishy.
Big embarassment for us lebanese a sad day indeed.

Wait. Be Reasonable. Where did it say Lebanese?? In Niger??
These ‘accidents’ are caused in many places where people don’t like to be told ‘the boat is full – wait for the next one.’ (could be a week) In some places people attack others just to get on an overloaded boat. Some guy says ‘There’s a crocodile.’, and everyone runs to one side to see. :-))
There IS no accounting for lack of logic and good judgment.

Aside from that, sell a house for cash. Cheap. 🙂
Housing prices in Lebanon rose in relation to the volume of the first rich Syrians diving out of their country. Later ‘refugees’ are causing Leb-people to dive out completely.
      But from Malii ??

Yeah my comment landed on the wrong post i saved it for the lebanese who died on their way to australia via indonesia but its obviously landed in the wrong place.

It has risen your right but very bad time to buy unless you are doing it for charity(if your an outsider). The increase of refugees and lack of shelter only means people will be living on your property for free or very cheap coz thats all they can afford and half the time you don’t recieve the monthly rent.
