Israeli tank shells wounded at least 16 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Saturday after an apparent attack on an Israeli army patrol along the Israel-Gaza border, Palestinian medics and local eyewitnesses said.
Several of the Palestinian wounded were thought to be in critical condition, Gaza hospital officials said.
