“Lebanese Decision Movement” launched by Merhebi

Former Minister and MP Talal El Merhebi declared during the launching ceremony of the “Lebanese Decision Movement (LDM)” that this movement aims at supporting the genuine patriotic decisions which protect Lebanon from its enemies.

Merhebi added that the party’s members believe in protecting Lebanon’s freedom, independence and sovereignty.

This is not the first time that Merhebi (66), who comes from Akkar district in north Lebanon , forms a political party. In the seventies he launched the National Opposition party “Jabhat el mouwajaha el wataniyya” which had members from all religions in order to promote national unity among the Lebanese since he was a strong advocate of an independent, united Lebanon.

    Not a very attractive name. Could have been made a bit shorter. But that is a side issue. What is his history? how did he fair in the previous attempt? It is an attractive proposition. Perhaps they should let women lead it. They would do a better job than the men who have failed miserably so far. Let women have a go. A woman president of Lebanon would be an attractive proposition too, she would not have had to be a former General, just Maronite – but this would contradict this particular party’s fundamental point.  I hope some one succeeds in the end and create a political Labanon minus the religion.

    A nice dream, is it too soon, or, maybe it’s time has come??

       I think time has come. Bangladesh had one and India previously. Since we are behind them in almost everything, and they had women leaders a long time ago as well as faster internet, may be it is our turn now. Time to be great, we have drones now! The golden age for Lebanon is round the corner, take it from me.

       I think time has come. Bangladesh had one and India previously.
