The Free Syrian army denied any incursions into the Lebanese territory. The denial comes after the Lebanese army command announced that FSA armed members infiltrated the town of Arsal twice near the borders with Syria but did not report any casualties.

Free Syrian Army Deputy Commander Colonel Malik al-Kurdii denied the army report during an interview with al Sharq al Awsat : “The FSA command is not at all aware of any such incursions into Lebanon”. He added : why should we infiltrate Lebanon, we have no business going there …obviously someone or a party in Lebanon are trying hard to make us look bad to justify their support for the Syrian regime of Bashar al Assad.( A possible reference to Hezbollah and its allies in the army command).

Hezbollah leadership has been supportive of the Syrian regime in its crackdown against the Syrian people and they like Assad usually refer to the rebels as terrorists. Over 30,000 Syrians mostly civilians have been killed since the uprising began last March 2011 according to Human Rights organizations
