Two high-ranking Syrian army officials defected from the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, Al-Arabiya television reported on Friday.
The report identified the defectors as : General Ahmad Tlass , head of military procurement at the interior ministry and Mohammad al-Haj Ali, military academy senior official
The report also said that Al-Hage Ali, who defected to Jordan, possessed information related to the regime’s crisis management policies.
Increasing numbers of defections have recently dealt a blow to the Assad regime.
High profile Syrian General Manaf Tlass announced his defection last month in what Washington and Paris termed a serious setback for the Damascus regime.
It added that Tlass possessed a considerable amount of information regarding the regime’s weapons stash as well as confidential information pertaining to the Syrian Interior Ministry.
The report also said that Al-Hage Ali, who defected to Jordan, possessed information related to the regime’s crisis management policies.
