The Ambassador of the International Organization for Human Rights Ali Aqil Khalil said on Sunday that an audio recording of the Lebanese Shiite pilgrims who were kidnapped in Syria would be broadcast on Sunday.

Khalil said that a recording was permitted following consultations with Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zoabi, a Muslim cleric who is mediating the release of the abductees.

“The recording will be broadcast on one of the television stations,” he added.

Khalil also said that the abductees had not yet crossed the Syrian border to Turkey.
