During a meeting with a delegation of US senators , Lebanese President Michel Suleiman thanked them for the aid US has been granting to Lebanon, according to a statement issued by the presidential office.
The US delegation included Senators US Senators , Robert Casey Jr, Jeanne Shaheen and Ted Kaufmann and US Ambassador to Lebanon Michele Sison, the statement said.
President Suleiman stressed the need for the US to exert more pressure on Israel to get it to engage in peace, the statement added
Suleiman also sent his regards to US President Barack Obama, voicing hope bilateral relations would remain good on all levels.
Casey, in turn, reiterated his country’s support of Lebanon as well its continuing assistance to the Lebanese Arms Forces (LAF) and Internal Security Forces (ISF), according to the statement.
