Lebanon’s Defense Minister Elias al-Murr briefed Prime Minister Saad Hariri on security measures in place Beirut and Beqaa municipal elections, according to a statement from the PM’s office.
The second round of the country’s municipal elections kicked off at 7 a.m. Sunday morning. The polls close at 7 p.m.
Few incidents have been reported . National News Agency (NNA) reported on Sunday that a clash broke out in Zahle’s Al-Barbara neighborhood between supporters of the March 14-backed Zahle Vision and Development electoral list, and the supporters of former MP Elias Skaff’s Zahle’s Decision electoral list during Sunday’s municipal elections.
Security forces intervened to contain the clash, the NNA said and no injuries were reported
