Syria’s arrest of Mustafa Ismail slammed by human rights groups

The Syrian authorities arrested Mustafa Ismail , the lawyer and writer , after being summoned to one of the intelligence branches in the city of Aleppo last Saturday 12 / 12 / 2009, and that without providing any reasons so far that led to his arrest

The Syrian human rights organizations issued a statement expressing concern over the arrest, which they said a clear violation of Article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 9 – 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
