OTV television reported that Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun said he was “extremely relieved” to have visited Damascus . He also said even though the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad invited him, he was thinking of making the trip anyway.
OTV also reported that Aoun said he discussed with Assad the Lebanese parliamentary elections and cabinet formation. Aoun also said there is no link between his trip and visits by other political figures such as Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
