Speaker Nabih Berri’s associate MP Ali Hassan Khalil said in a statement in the parliament that he was surprised about the fuss raised over the formation of the National Commission for the abolition of political sectarianism. He said rejection of the commission means the “refusal of some to implement the provisions of the Taif Accord.”
