Kim Jong-unTop leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un on Thursday sent letters of thanks respectively to Lee Hee-ho, wife of South Korea’s late President Kim Dae-jung, and to Hyun Jeong-eun, chairwoman of South Korea’s Hyundai Group, the official KCNA news agency reported Wednesday.

Kim expressed his thanks to them for sending wreaths and condolence messages on the third anniversary of the death of late DPRK leader Kim Jong Il on Dec. 17.

He said Kim Jong Il in his lifetime often recalled Lee’s devotion to the Korean nation and the reunification cause together with late President Kim Dae-jung.

He also expressed his willingness to “make positive efforts to realize the long-cherished desire for national reunification,” according to the report.

Kim said he expected Lee to visit Pyongyang next year and have a good time here.

To Hyun Jeong-eun, Kim said all Koreans will remember the patriotic feats of Hyundai Group’s founder Chung Ju-yung and former Chairman Chung Mong-hun for the nation and national reunification.

She is welcome to visit Pyongyang in the future, Kim said in the letter.
