Future bloc MP Khaled Daher told LBC television on Saturday that four of the 22 Lebanese citizens were actually killed in an ambush in Syria.

“Only four of the fighters were killed in the ambush in Syria, two of the fighters are detained and the rest are either missing or fled,” Daher said.

There were conflicting reports yesterday about the Lebanese that were killed in Syria by the Syrian security forces . Initial reports indicated 17 Lebanese fighters from Tripoli were killed, later in the day a Lebanese security source and an Islamist leader told AFP that 21 Lebanese and one Palestinian were killed in an ambush in Syria

Daher called on the Lebanese and Arab youths not to go to Syria to fight along with the rebels.

“The Syrian people do not need fighters. I call on the Lebanese and Arab youths not to go to Syria to fight because this would be pointless,” Daher said during a another interview with MTV television.
