Two Kuwaiti citizens were found Thursday in a room underneatha restaurant that they own in Arayya , Dahr al-Wahesh area of the town of Kahale in Mt. Lebanon, just outside Beirut, National News Agency reported.
“The two were found in the workers’ bedroom room underneath the Laredo Restaurant that they own ,” NNA said.
Some reports indicated that the two were shot dead , but other reports said they were hit on the head with sharp objects.
NNA identified the two men as Hussein Nassar, 58, and Nabil Yaaqoub al-Gharib, 56.
According to MTV, the two men had intended to travel to their country the same day on Thursday.
Police arrived swiftly to the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.
Investigative judge Rami Abduallah also arrived at the scene and found a brown Nizzan x-trail tag no. 254921/m at the scene. The 2 slain men reportedly rented the car 2 days ago.
While the circumstances of the case remain unclear, Kahaleh Mayor George Bejjani said the crime was most likely due to a personal dispute and not a terrorist attack.
According to INN Lebanon website the restaurant is not operational and was recently purchased by the 2 Kuwaiti victims and according to Kahale mayor the victims have just recently paid the taxes and registration fees.
This incident comes amid high tensions between Lebanon and the Gulf countries . Kuwait is one of the Gulf Cooperation Council states that has advised is citizens not to travel to Lebanon.
