National Struggle Front bloc leader MP Walid Jumblatt told “An-Nahar” newspaper that he is personally ready for a new government if the appropriate conditions are met for this proposal and left it up “to the political forces to decide”.
But Jumblatt cautioned about vacuum , in the event a new government cannot be formed: ” My message is clear to all, I refuse to accept the country falling into the void.”
The assassination last Friday in downtown Beirut of intelligence chief Gen. Wissam al-Hassan, a prominent Lebanese figure opposed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad sparked calls for Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his government to quit.
