Free Syrian army head denies kidnapping Lebanese Shiites

The head of the higher military council of the Free Syrian army Brigadier General Mustafa Sheikh told Al Sharq al Awsat newspaper that his group has nothing to with the abduction of the Lebanese Shiites in Syria, emphasizing that he found out about this through communication with mediators from Lebanon who asked him to mediate in the release of the hostages.

Sheikh told the daily that “Syria is currently a big mess, and that armed groups that have absolutely no relations with us are claiming affiliation with Free Syrian army” stressing that his group will never allow itself in any way to carry out such kidnappings .

Similarly ,Free Syrian Army’s Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Hamoud denied on Tuesday that the FSA kidnapped the 13 Lebanese Shiite men in Syria. He accused the Syrian regime of being “responsible for the kidnapping.”
