Former Lebanese president and current Phalange party leader Amin Gemayel said on Saturday that “as long as the national dialogue will not discuss Hezbollah’s arms, then I don’t know its significance.”
“If the call for dialogue is serious, then President Michel Suleiman is required to wrap up a summary of what was discussed during previous national dialogue sessions and present a practical proposal to reach results,” he told Future News.
March 8 figures have called for a national dialogue on the issue of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, while March 14 figures have said they only want dialogue if the issue of Hezbollah’s arms is discussed.
Gemayel also said that his party “will call for an investigation into the clashes at Notre Dame University .”
“Are students banned from celebrating their victory , after NDU student elections ?” he asked.
Pro-Phalange students clashed on Friday with Lebanese soldiers who were deployed around the NDU campus.
