Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir said on Friday at the Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport upon his arrival from the Vatican, that all those who contribute to finding a solution to the difficulties Lebanon is facing are welcome .
Sfeir lauded the ongoing Saudi-Syrian efforts to contain tensions in Lebanon over a U.N.-backed probe into the murder of ex-PM Rafik Hariri.
“We salute anyone who contributes to finding a solution to all these difficulties Lebanon is facing,” he said
Commenting on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon he said this is “moving forward,” and stressed that nothing can affect its work.”
Asked about PM Saad Hariri’s visit to Tehran on Saturday, Sfeir welcomed the step, noting that “the prime minister must be in contact with all parties.”
Hariri will travel to the Islamic Republic on Saturday in an official visit.
