Lebanon sealed a 2-1 series victory over Japan as they won the final game of their triple set 93-80 in Fukushima.
Jackson Vroman was once again the star for Lebanon, scoring 26 points and collecting 10 rebounds.
Rony Fahed also added 20 points and four assists in the victory.
However, Lebanon did not have it all their own way as the hosts took a 24-16 lead in the first quarter before Lebanon took control in the middle two stanzas.
They were in front 43-42 by half-time and then outscored their hosts 24-12 in the third period to build a comfortable lead.
Hiroshi Yamada did his best to get Japan back in it, scoring 14 of his team-high 20 points in the final quarter.
Lebanon had won the opening game of the series 92-87 in Aichi before losing 79-77 in Tokyo.
Lebanon will advance to the FIBA World Championship at the end of August.
Commenting on the last game , Lebanon manager Georges Kelzi told the FIBA website: “ Japan got into rhythm faster than we did. It probably had to do with their home advantage, but early in the second quarter we tuned into our rhythm and began to dominate the game,” he added.
On July 18th, 2010 the Lebanese Basketball Family elected a new Board committee for the Lebanese Basketball Federation, the elections were held in the Auditorium of Centrale Club in the presence of 86 clubs from the various divisions.
