Lebanon’s Interior minister Ziad Baroud announced that the final voter turnout was as follows:
Beirut : 21 %
Beqaa: 49 %
Beirut: 11% Mina al Hos, 31% Mazraa, 22 % Ashrafieh and Rumail, 19 % Saifi, 16 % Mudawar, 17 & Dar el Mrayseh, 19 % Zqaq el Blat, 18 % Port area, 22 % Bashoura, 49 % Ras Beirut
Beqaa: 43 % Rashaya, 46 % Western Beqaa, 52 % , Baalbeck 49 % Hermel
Baroud attributed the low voter turnout in Beirut to lack of competition and said had there been proportional representation the turnout would have been higher .
Baroud revealed that 36 were arrested for various disturbances while 5 were arrested for corrruption
