Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt told reporters following his talks with visiting U.S. Senator John McCain that he hadn’t received any concrete information from Syria in order to take a decision on whether to visit that country or not and that he “will respond at the appropriate time.”
Lebanese Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan’s had reportedly told al-Akhbar daily on Saturday that he brought two messages from the Syrian leadership to Jumblatt.
1-Assad family thanked Jumblatt for extending his condolences on the death of Majed,the president’s brother.
2- A confirmation by the Syrian leadership to Jumblatt that all reports about unwillingness of Syrian officials to welcome Jumblatt are only speculation that does not represent the official Syrian stance
