Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah has said he will not invite Iran to next week’s Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit, the Kuwait Times reported Monday. Al-Sabah made the statement in a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Abul Gheit, who was visiting the Gulf state on Sunday, according to the newspaper.
While Iran is not a member of the six-member council, it has in the past been invited to observe.
The GCC, an economic and trade union with emerging political elements, is comprised of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Source: DPA
