Former Lebanese president and current Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel told New TV during an interview on Sunday that Dialogue has been postponed indefinitely and there are reasons that prevented others from participation, but our culture in the Phalange Party is dialogue and dialogue played a great role in avoiding crises throughout Lebanon’s history.
Lebanese President Michel Suleiman on Saturday called off the National Dialogue session that had been scheduled for January 7, National News Agency reported. NNA added that no other date has been set for the upcoming session.
During a televised news conference at his Maarab residence , Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Friday that engaging in National Dialogue with Hezbollah to resolve the issue of its arms would be a waste of time since the resistance group has never implemented any of the decisions agreed in previous dialogue sessions.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt and his ministers in the cabinet are reportedly planning to launch an initiative to to avert strife in Lebanon. The initiative which will be presented to March 14 and March 8 camps will call for participation in the national dialogue talks,
The Future Movement Parliamentary bloc announced in a statement on Tuesday that it will not participate in the national dialogue sessions and reiterated its call on Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s cabinet to resign.

During a meeting at the Beiteddine palace with the Shouf MPs, Lebanese president Michel Suleiman stressed the importance of sticking with the Taef accord, “since it is the only workable formula for Lebanon and abandoning will be too risky.”
