The aim of the event according Tollab public relations is to unite all Lebanese and Montrealers of all colors, religions, names or cultures, who are willing to participate.

TOLLAB federation to insert new Montreal achievement in The Guinness World records
MONTREAL, June 9 /CNW Telbec/ - The Lebanese Students' Federation, also
known as TOLLAB, aims to gather 3,500 people at the Marcelin-Wilson Park on
the 20th of June to dance the dabke, hand-in-hand, for at least 5 consecutive
minutes. This is an aspiring effort to create a new record for the longest
dabke chain ever assembled at the renowned Guinness World Records pending the
approval of an official representative attending the event.
The dabke is a traditional Lebanese line dance often compared to those
found in South-Eastern Europe, such as Greece. The dance's name, which means
the "stomping of feet," is known for its representation of unity and
solidarity.
The non-profit federation seeks to promote the dance's background of
mutual aid and solidarity in this event alongside Montreal's variety of
distinct features, in order to provide Montreal with an international exposure
that will highlight its multicultural face. " If the Lebanese community is the
driving force behind the chain", says the event coordinator, "then Montrealers
are, and will be, its links."
This project shall be a framework of the annual Lebanese festival in
Montreal, which TOLLAB takes part in for the second consecutive year. Details
