Khalifeh confirmed that the Lebanese patient was treated on Friday, and “he can now go home,” while the 2 Canadians are being treated and are in good condition.

Khalifeh stressed that the above three cases of swine flu have been the first cases diagnosed in Lebanon since the outbreak of the virus

Khalifeh said that his ministry is taking all necessary measures at the airport, ports and main crossing points at the borders to ensure that the virus does not spread into Lebanon . He also said extra measure may be taken including the of use thermal scanners at the airport to detect passengers with fever.

"The situation is under control," he stressed.
