Kerry who is scheduled to visit Damascus later in the week to meet with Syrian president Bashar al Assad , has also met with Lebanese Force's foreign relations adviser Elie Khoury . Khoury asked the senator to press Syria into demarcating its borders with Lebanon, implementing resolution 1701 and stopping the illegal arms flow into Lebanon.
In Lebanon Kerry is expected to talk about Lebanon's June 7 parliamentary elections, relations between the two countries and the changes in the US administration under President Barack Obama
Kerry, is on a Middle eastern tour that will also take him to Egypt, Israel, the Palestinian territories and Syria.
