
Hashemi Has already met Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and Prime Minister Fouad Siniora .
He is expected to meet other senior officials tomorrow
Siniora visited Baghdad in August for talks with his Iraqi counterpart Nouri al-Maliki on boosting oil exports and boosting bilateral ties. He also met Hashemi to discuss political and economic issues during his August visit.
Hashemi came to Beirut via Turkey where he was on an official 2 day visit for for talks with Turkish leaders ahead of a visit by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki later this week.
Upon his arrival in İstanbul from Ankara late Saturday, Hashemi described his meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gül as very productive. Various bilateral issues, including economy and security, were discussed during the talks, which took place earlier on Saturday, Hashemi said.
When asked about the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which launches attacks against Turkey from bases in northern Iraq, Hashemi said "Everybody in Iraq ,Turkmen, Arabs and Kurds , is annoyed by these terrorist actions, which go beyond borders. Everybody wants the terrorist attacks against Turkey to stop."
