
The ship will be dispatched in March 2009 to join with other warships from at least four other countries to maintain stability in the country for a six-month term, vice chief of staff of Indonesian Navy, Vice Admiral Moekhlas Sidig, said here.
"It is an honor for us, we will send a warship in March 2009," he told reporters at his office.
Inspection on the ship would be carried out by the UN to ensure it meets the standard before dispatching to Lebanon, said Sidig.
"The ship is for peace building mission, not for war. We fully prepare for this," he said.
Earlier, Indonesia has sent more than one thousand troops to Lebanon to join with others UN troops for maintaining security in the country.
