
In a published statement Hezbollah went on to add," This pact at its present form will only present Iraq and its people with more damages; it provides the forces of occupation with an additional opportunity to further organize its control, to rob this country's wealth." It went further to add," All the pressure exerted by America in polishing its image will not change matters."
"The (U.S.) occupation should not be rewarded, it should receive no prizes." The statement pointed," Regardless of whatever legal framework and excuses provided for legitimizing the occupation; its unconditional departure is of great benefit for Iraqis."
Hezbollah said that if Iraq adopts this "brave and historic position, it will enjoy stability, unity and good living."
The Iraqi cabinet voted overwhelmingly Sunday to approve the security agreement that sets the conditions for the Americans' continued presence in Iraq from Jan. 1 until the end of 2011.
All but one of the 28 cabinet ministers who attended the two-and-a-half-hour session voted for the agreement and sent it to Parliament for consideration.
