Berri insisted on the importance of this reconciliation now.
"We discussed Arab political situation and the need for improving Arab conditions in particular regarding all of what is going on around the world today." Berri said.
Berri who is on an official visit to Kuwait met with the Lebanese community on Monday evening. He addressed them saying," Lebanon's spring will continue, this will be contagious to our Arab brethren, meaning improved inter-Arab relations, for the sake of their history, future and interests and always for the sake of Palestine and Lebanon."
He pointed that all must walk the path of reconciliation in support of Lebanon's national dialogue and defensive strategy. Berri felt that Lebanon is ready to enter into a new challenge in 2009, its upcoming parliamentary elections, calling on the Lebanese to," reject all forms of sectarianism, vote for safeguarding Doha agreement and to continue implementing the Taef agreement."
Speaker Berri reiterated his support to the Lebanese resistance and its society as called for by Imam Musa el-Sadr, "because we are facing an Israeli challenge and we must be ready to defend ourselves."
