Geagea made the statement to the reports following his meeting with President Michel Suleiman at the Baabda palace ( pictured )
He attributed the delay in the government formation to the demands of the change and reform bloc which is headed by Gen Michel Aoun.

Geagea said that there is a possibility of holding a meeting with Aoun in the near future under the auspices of the president.

Geagea proposed national dialogue prior to the issuance of the government statement . Told reporters that he "suggested to president Suleiman that they hold a national dialogue after the establishment of the government and before drafting the government's plan of action so that political factions can agree over the new government's basic principles."

Such dialogue is needed in light of the "major political differences" among the various factions, he said

"March 14 Christians will be well represented in the government. The Lebanese Forces' share in the government will be handed out according to its popular representation," Geagea said.

Geagea said he also discussed with Suleiman the security situation and the regaining of state authority.

Earlier in the day, Geagea was quoted by the Future newspaper as saying Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun is "trying to achieve electoral political gains by blackmailing."

Geagea told Future : Two parties are blocking the formation of the cabinet : Syria and Hezbollah and they are not concerned about the delay as long as they are not held responsible . Aoun is being used as a front while they are benefiting from the delay

"The government would eventually be formed because neither Syria nor Hezbollah can topple the Doha Accord," Geagea said.
