"Hezbollah has tried to avoid what happened today for some time, and they are the ones who were afraid of the street (clashes)," said Franjieh.
The calculated operation carried out by Hezbollah on Wednesday did not reflect any caution as suggested by Franjieh, on the contrary, it looked like war was being declared on the citizens of Lebanon.
"There are daily provocations directed at Hezbollah, which aim at dragging the party into internal conflicts. The majority wants to test Hezbollah through the communication network," added the Hezbollah ally, justifying the blockade on the Airport and roads throughout Beirut.
"The majority is betting on the arrival of fleets, but their arrival would turn Lebanon into Iraq," Franjieh said, implying the Lebanese government was asking the US Armed Forces to defend against the expected coup d'etat from Hezbollah.
