
"Such a law prohibits emigrants from participating in the making of Lebanon's future," the statement said.
"Lebanese who left Lebanon because of the consecutive political and economic crises there have the right to participate in the making of the country's future," the statement added.
The statement also called on Lebanese politicians meeting in Qatar to consider Lebanese emigrants' right to vote.

The Lebanese abroad organization , which speaks for all the Lebanese living abroad has issued the following petition that demands the right for the Lebanese expatriates vote in the Lebanese elections like other democratic nations
WE DEMAND THE RIGHT TO VOTE AS CITIZENS OF LEBANON
The Lebanese living abroad hereby request their legitimate right to VOTE, much as citizens of all democratic states are allowed to vote even when they reside outside their countries' borders.
Lebanese expatriates from all communities have always brought a steadfast support in all matters to their motherland.
They have been relentless in safeguarding, from abroad, a bond of national solidarity and unity without which Lebanon would not be what it is today.
The Lebanese of the Diaspora send an urgent call to put an end to the governing authorities' disregard and indifference towards them.
They demand to be involved in major decisions concerning Lebanon, especially those affecting the sovereignty, the unity and the very existence of their country.
They call for establishing, in Lebanese embassies and consulates across the globe, a structure allowing them to exert fully their legitimate voting rights.
Americans abroad can vote online
This year, for the first time, expatriate Democrats can cast their ballots on the Internet in a presidential primary for people living outside the United States.
Democrats Abroad, an official branch of the party representing overseas voters, held its first global presidential preference primary from Feb. 5 to 12, with ex-pats selecting the candidate of their choice by Internet as well as fax, mail and in-person at polling places in more than 100 countries.
